Overview:

Welcome to "NINE," a unique and holistic project designed to empower new mothers and celebrate the transformative journey of motherhood. The project is a nurturing and transformative space designed to provide a supportive space for new mothers and their babies and children as they creatively navigate the profound transition into motherhood. This project focuses on three core elements: theatre, wellness, and creative writing, all intertwined to empower women during this pivotal phase of life while ensuring that their little ones are welcome participants.

Project objectives:

Empowerment through Theatre: Using the medium of theatre to encourage new mothers to explore and express their unique experiences, challenges, and joys of motherhood. Through drama and storytelling, participants will have the opportunity to embrace their narratives and connect with others on a similar journey, all while their babies play at their feet.

Holistic Wellness: Prioritise the physical and emotional well-being of new mothers and their children. Incorporate wellness practices such as exercise, meditation, and mindfulness to support stress reduction, self-care, and the development of healthy routines, both for mamas and their bubas.

Creative Expression through Poetry: Promote the therapeutic benefits of poetry as a means of self-expression and reflection for both mothers and their children. Encourage participants to channel their thoughts, emotions, and experiences into poetry, providing a creative outlet for self-discovery and healing for participants.

Empowerment: New mothers navigate the challenges and changes of motherhood with creativity and resilience, all while nurturing their children's development. Providing a safe and supportive space for self-expression and self-care for both mothers and their little ones.

Culminating Celebration:

“NINE” Completes its journey in a creative showcase where participants, both mothers and their children, have the opportunity to present their collaborative performances on their unique experience of motherhood to a live audience. It's an opportunity to empower others, speak truth, shine and celebrate growth.
